Chinook Winds Rib-Eating Contest in July

The IFOCE is expected to announce that the Chinook Winds Casino will hold the 2006 Chinook Winds World Rib Eating Championship on July 15 and July 16, 2006, in Lincoln City, OR.

The casino, overlooking the Pacific in the scenic ocean-side town, traditionally offers generous prize money. The rib-eating title was won in 2005 by Joey Chestnut, in 2004 by Richard LeFevre and in 2003 by Cookie Jarvis. Chestnut holds the world record of 5.5 pounds in 12 minutes.

The eating contest is part of the Chinook Winds’ annual “Smokin’ at the Ocean” food festival. There is a world championship and an amateur contest. As always, only individuals over 18 years of age are eligible and the IFOCE will handle registration via www.ifoce.com.
